Pfronten

Pfronten with its mountain air, hay health resort and winter sports area (853 - 1,830 m) presents varied experience.

13 districts form the popular holiday places at the foot of the Allgäu and the Tyrolean Alps - Weißbach, Steinach, Ösch, Dorf, Meilingen, Heitlern, Ried, Berg, Röfleuten, Halden, Kreuzegg, Rehbichel and Kappel are located next to each other on 62,22 km².

The bell tower of the late-baroque St. Nicholas church can be seen from afar, where regular concerts take place.
Magnificent summits and gentle hiking idyll with huts and the Alps offer special nature and hikers' experience. Nordic walking trails, mountain railways and lifts and a year-round 53 km long MTB marathon course guarantee a lot of variety on a holiday.
Germany's highest castle ruin, Falkenstein, at an altitude of 1,284 meters, reminds about the “fairy tale king" Ludwig II and can be reached on foot or by e-bike. If you are looking for creativity, the workshop behind the guesthouse is ideal for you. Here you can carve, felt and be busy with other creative activities.
A special highlight for children are nine elaborately designed themed playgrounds, which will take the little children as well as the bigger ones into the world of knights, fairy tales, planets, pirates or the circus.

Pfronten maintains a rich treasure of tradition and customs: a ceremony to erect the maypole, folkloric evenings, country theatre, cattle drive and much more can be discovered here.

Pfronten can be reached via the A7 autobahn, exit Oy, the B 309 and the B 310. Pfronten has a railway station.
